Documents of Oginskiai family
The Oginskiai family is one of the most prominent noble families of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which had a great influence on the state‘s political, economic and cultural development for centuries. This digital collection presents the most valuable documents from VUL Manuscripts Department which are connected to the Oginskiai family. The manuscripts dating from the 16th century to the early 20th century cover the Oginskiai family genealogy, land ownership, religious foundations and other various social matters. Types of documents presented here include correspondence, memoirs, privileges from the king, foundations, judicial and land papers. Special mention should be given to the memoirs in 4 volumes by one of the most famous member of the Oginskiai family – Duke Mykolas Kleopas Oginskis.
